Call for Persian Gulf International Environmental Art Festival

15 to 28  March - 2009

Deadline:  February 12, 2009

 

 

The International Sand Sculpture Festival with a general theme of "Persian Gulf, Peace and Friendship of Nations".  This international event will begin on March 15, 2009 and will be ended on 28 March – 2009.

The artists will realize sand sculpture and environmental art projects.  Artists wishing to participate are invited to submit their requests and link of their web site to paradise@riverart.net.   The selection committee will choose applicants based on their previous work experience. 

Artists selected for this Festival will create their artworks during a 14-day residency in Iran, March 15 – 28 , 2009. The selected artists will receive accommodations from March 15 – 28 , 2009, meals, possibly economy airfare from their home country to Iran and return (we are trying to find sponsor ), and volunteer help to create their works.  International traveler can get visa for two weeks in any borders of Iran.

The festival will be held during Noruz holidays (Iranian New Year) in a 50-hectare field. One goal is to promote environmental art and education. Persian Gulf region’s handicrafts and souvenirs will be available during the event.

Conference and workshop on environmental and public art will be held on the sidelines of the gala.

In February 2009 we will also have festival in the Persian Gulf – Hormoz Island.  This will be the 20th Environmental Art Festival in Iran.
